You sound like you are describing the cue-mix feature found on a lot of mixers. It should work as you described.

It might have just been broken on the mixer you were using, or possibly you had levels set incorrectly? If you have channels cranked and master down (or vice-versa) the cue-mix feature wouldn’t work properly.

Yep, it should work on the DJM mixers, not as well as on Denon mixers (or controllers for that matter) because they are one of the VERY few to still have split cue option 😀

Thanks, in many situations the guy before me has maxed out everything at the top of the red… maybe that’s why I couldn’t hear between my incoming song to their outgoing one, or it was just broken.. I need to find somewhere outside of a live environment I can test this on without having to find the money to buy a unit.
