Well for starters I wouldn’t use the windows folder system to organise my music. I let iTunes organise my music into Artist -> Album -> Tracks in one master folder on my hard drive. All my music is in that folder.

In Virtual DJ, I instead use a combination of the Virtual Folders and iTunes Playlists to organise my tracks – this prevents lots of duplicates if tracks fit into more than one category for example.

I don’t think it is possible to simply hide windows folders within the browser within VDJ.

Yes, you have to be a little careful – unlike a lot of other software, the library on Virtual is actually a full directory listing of your hard drive – so actions can be a little more permanent than you might intend if you start moving things around!

Can I assume you are getting to your music in the library by opening up the “my pc” folder and going from there? That would indeed show you everything.

How I set up my system is I have one master directory called “music” and have that set as a favourite so it shows up in the root listing. Then when you open that all the subfolders are there without having to navigate through the rest of the PCs file system.

Then you can set what directories show up in the root listing and remove anything you don’t want to see or use.

    Hope that helps.

That does help btw not an ITUNES USER.I will try and reorganize. I think the remedy i can use will be to go to an external HD and just bring the music onto it and exclude the rest and have the browser library based on the external..I think that would work especially since i am getting low on HD space anyway.

I was simply giving an example of what I do. This does not mean you have to do the same – if my solution to this problem doesn’t work for you, then don’t use it. Simple as that.

But you did ask for advice and advice I gave..

If your solution works for you, then do it! No one here knows what is best for you. We only try to help..
