I want to wait to see if there is DVS and HID support for serato.
I want to see if the DJM 900NX2 is serato compatible with the current club license
Need to know more about the SP1 integration which was a piece of hardware built for serato
Ideally need Rekord buddy 2.0 to be released to allow for seamless cue point and metadata integration across serato and rekorbox / &DJ to make for seamless library integration
Does the CDJ NX2 offer MIK integration or only musical key notation?
SUbject to all of that it looks like a set up that would enable preparation and playing in many different configurations; serato, rekorbox, rekordbox DJ & DVS which would enable anyone to prepare for almost any environment they may find themselves in.Bedroom to booth which is what Pioneer want.
I’m sure rekordbox dj will get better and better but as others have said the serato partnership will not die overnight but will fade of a number of years and product cycles. I guess these wer sensible upgades that won’t confuse the installed user base but will equally make life fairly comfortable for those playing off a laptop or indeed coming form a controller background. Which is why it figures to leave the CD players in there. They won’t lose anyone by keeping them. i’m sure they will get used less and less over the years.

Not tempted in the slightest. At the end of the day you still need extra gear if you want pads or good FX control to name a few things. And at these prices even an SZ or RZ is a cheap piece of kit which happens to have the exact same jogs and all the other bits and pieces us digital jocks have come to expect, like hard cue buttons, performance pads, etx.

This is the oldest thing in any industry. When tube-TV died they made the fanciest tube-TVs you had ever seen, so you would once more buy into the old technology just so you could buy your flatscreen one year later…
The whole point of this is to make it seem viable at least a bit, then they will have some highlisters endorse them, expect some cool vidoes of the likes of Tiesto, Ghetta, van Buren, … have them on stage while performing a pre-recorded mix.
This way a lot of people will think it is still relevant and “pro DJs use it”. -> Sales.
A few clubs that still have Pioneer sales people directly at their doorstep will fall for it and upgrade their gear, as those sales people know not to ask the club technician, but go to the manager directly who has no clue and thinks he needs it.

So will this sell -> Yes it will. You can milk this cow for at least another 5 years is my guess and it makes perfect business sense for them to do it.

Am I tempted? -> Not one bit. It is still a very limiting piece of hardware for an astronomic price point.

    Overpriced, mediocre components, Pioneer logo.

They will sell loads of them.
