OK, very strange… it seems to be specific to that thread. Weird.

Woah… in my last reply, I tried to link to the thread that was giving me trouble, and it ate the link, but posted the rest of my message. OK, so… It’s the post by Shaun over in DJ Gear about his Wellpoint controller.

AH. OK, I think I’ve tracked it down… if I include an internal link in a post, it eats the link, if I include an external link in a post, it eats the post.

This is lookin’ like a bug.

You should probably create a new thread if you want to actually get an answer – the “new post” form is at the bottom of the sub-forum index. I would also recommend not posting it in this sub-forum, as this is for posts related to the forum itself, not questions about hardware or software. You should probably put your post in DJ Software, since Serato is the primary topic.

Not fixed yet. Experienced the same problem today, while trying to link to an external site in a reply.

I guess it’s random glitches as we (moderators) hardly ever experience this, nor do many others.

We have seen some other weird glitches very occasionally. I obviously post a lot and, while annoying, the frequency is so low I usually don’t even bother reporting it. It is also usually not reproducible, which would make troubleshooting the issue very hard.

But keep reporting odd behavior please.

This is getting really annoying. There is obviously a problem with posting posts that refer to external content via URLs/hyperlinks. In most cases, a post containing an embedded URL doesn’t post at all. It doesn’t give an error message, it simply doesn’t post it to the board. If you try to repost it, you get an error message saying that the post already exists, which means that the original post with the links was submitted to the post database, but something is preventing it from being displayed. I suspect a faulty configuration in the security settings of the board itself, causing posts with certain link types to be blocked.

It’s been noticed by me as well. Unfortunately I have not been able to be fully replicable in the errors, making it very hard to put the web team in action. I will bring it to their attention again and see if – as a community – we can provide them with enough input to pinpoint the source of the problems and find a fix. Thanks again for reporting.
