Personally I am not a big fan of switching to a new OS on a machine that is running mission-critical apps (as in DJ software for a DJ). In the old days I would have said wait for Service Pack 1.

It’s not just Serato that needs to be supported, but usually some drivers as well.

You took the plunge though, so you’ll just have to see how it goes.

Did you at least make a disk image before upgrading so you can 1-click back to the original setup?

Actually (I mostly use Macs but test on my Office Windows for the forum here) I have to say Serato and my reloop drivers seem to run more smoothly on Win10 than on Win8.
Even runs on the brand new Surface Pro 4. (Yes I work for an IT company we already have it…)

Traktor seems to be working fine for me on Windows 10.

I didn’t make a copy of the Windows 7 iso, but like everyone else Serato has been running pretty smooth with windows 10. No glitches or errors at all so far. Denon drivers are all working well too. Glad I made the switch.

I’ve been using Windows 10 to DJ from since the end of August now and it has been 100% stable whilst DJing.

They did release an update a couple of weeks ago that broke quite a lot of stuff though – but they fixed that pretty quick and (for me) it was an easy fix.

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 – from an ISO disc that I created after using the free upgrade so I had a clean install though.. And I have backups upon backups of my PC now and before I updated to I could go back easily at any point. I haven’t needed to and won’t though.

More than anything else (non-DJ related), the Virtual Desktops built in are a god-send for multitasking.. The keyboard shortcut could be quicker though – I have programmed keys on my mouse to do change for me now. Much quicker.

Windows 10 is better than any previous version of the OS, it is faster and easier to get around from place to place within the OS. I upgraded immediately or very shortly after the 29th July. W10 has the same basic operating kernels as 7, 8, and 8.1 and so there is hardly any risk in upgrading to the new OS for Serato users as long as your PC is 100% compatible. I ran Serato DJ as soon as I upgraded long before Serato gave official support and with zero glitches!
