Are the tracks now in exactly the same location as they were before you setup the new laptop – IE if they were in Documents/Music before, are they in Documents/Music now?

    Hi Bob77

The new laptop has a small Solid State Drive and a larger Hybrid drive. Therefore the ITunes music folder is on the D drive rather than the C drive.

iTunes has been a bit of a mess lately. Lots of problems for DJs. I avoid using it so I can’t really help, other than to point you to the forums. Some people seem to have developed work-arounds.

Your issue is that the music is no longer in the place that iTunes and VDJ expect it to be…

Do the tracks that don’t play in VDJ play in iTunes? If they don’t, it should give you a box which allows you to tell it where the tracks now are.. Are you using the same iTunes library as before but copied over or are you using a different one??

I rebuilt my PC a couple of weeks ago and it all just worked because I kept all the file paths identical 🙂

    Hi Bob
The tracks concerned don’t play in ITunes either. I copied the ITunes library whole.

Tonight I went through some of the tracks that don’t play and copied them manually, one by one, from my old ITunes and put them next to the original in the various playlists. The new tracks play both on ITunes and VDJ 8, plus strangely, often the track/version that previously didn’t play now does? What I did notice that a number of the tracks, not all, were purchased via ITunes but I had changed the track title by adding a date. Maybe that helped throw ITunes off course a bit?

Go to apple.com/support look for iTunes and “fix broker music links” there is a tutorial there how to fix this quickly.
