ModeratorSounds like settings to me. I am not at home in the VDJ settings, but we have a few readers who know their way around VDJ well.

ParticipantWhen you say you can’t hear it through your headphones – is the “PFL” button underneath the fader for Deck 2 turned on? The PFL buttons control what goes to the headphone output..
Have you got the audio setup correctly? In Audio settings, you should have 2 lines in the table – one for “master” and one for “headphones”.. Is this the case?
And by default when you open up VDJ, the PFL button for deck 1 will be selected.. This is why you can always hear it..

ParticipantIn VDJ the options I have for the DDJ SB audio setup are “Line (Pioneer DDJ SB)” with output 1 through 8, I have tried all the outputs yet channel 1 continues to play through the headphones.
Something here sounds off. What version are you using, and what exactly are your settings?

ParticipantHere’s an update…
Everything is setup the way it should be… Channels 1&2 seem to do the same job as 3&4, 5&6, 6&7 and also 7&8…. I have tried all different channel combinations (got knows why there’s 8 channels when there’s only one (single channel) input and two (headphones and RCA) output.
I setup with the headphones on my ‘primary soundcard’ (being my laptop) but that is horrible sound and is muffled etc.
The PFL button is lit up (I do have some experience lol)

ParticipantAgain, what version of Virtual are you using. It makes a difference in trying to trouble shoot this. Also, there is something not quite right about how you are describing the channels which makes me think this is a configuration problem, and probably easy to fix.

ParticipantIt’s 7.4 Pro, sorry forgot to mention that…

ParticipantFurthermore I managed to upgrade the firmware to 1.8 (I believe it was) – but that made no difference.

ParticipantOkay, it has been awhile since I’ve played around in 7 so my memory of buttons may be a little off… but give this a try…
You shouldn’t need to have advanced configuration turned on.
– Set “inputs” to “none”
– Set “output” to “headphones” and select “Master 1/2 / Headphones 3/4” from the drop down.
– Set “sound card” to “asio driver” and then select the Pioneer asio driver for the SB from the drop down list. That should be all that is required for setup. Remember, the channels being talked about in Virtual’s config page aren’t mixer channels, they are USB channels for communication with the controller.

ParticipantAlso, make sure you are updated to the latest version (7.4.6) as I’m not sure when SB support was natively added. For the best support you should really consider upgrading to 8 however.

ParticipantIt won’t allow me to use ASIO, I get an error, can’t remember the error exactly but will update again once I get on the laptop.

ParticipantFirmware isn’t likely the issue, drivers are – try deleting and reinstalling your asio drivers. You won’t be able to use the controller properly without them working, no matter which DJ software you are using.

ParticipantSo I reinstalled the ASIO driver, done the configuration the way you said and when I hit play it goes like SUPER slow (Wish I could show you a video)….
Any other ideas?

ParticipantSuper slow but the cue is now working, or super slow and the cue still isn’t working?

ParticipantCueing does seem to be working now, but, it’s impossible to play a song like this….

ParticipantRestart your PC, without the SB plugged in as you turn it on.. Then plug it in and check that the default soundcard in windows IS NOT the SB. Then launch VDJ..
Does it work now..?
The reason it does that often is that windows likes to run everything at 44.1KHz sample rate but the ASIO drivers will likely run at 48KHz or 96KHz – the irregullarity causes the tracks to play really slowly. It’s caused by having the SB as the default device in windows, which means that the ASIO drivers are locked to 44.1KHz but are being fed 48KHz by VDJ..
