This is a pretty rudimentary way of gaining a track. More advanced software analysis the track and has a more complex algorithm to work out to which level to set the gain.
I use Platinum Notes, which isn’t free, but has lots of extra features that does make it a very worthwhile tool for serious DJs imho.
Some people don’t mind spending big bucks on music, gear and DJ software, but are not willing to buy the handful of tools that can make a lot of difference in optimizing your collection. My advice is to create some space in your budget for these tools.
