    Frankly, the smart money is on setting the location for your recordings to an external HD, imho.

    Keep your DJ laptop intact, all the tracks local (MacBook Pro 128GB harddrive is most likely SSD?). Little money buys you a 2-3TB external HD. Split it in two partitions, use one for backing up your complete MacBook (200GB should be plenty) and the rest for recording.

    Sorry for slightly off-topic, but here’s another storage expansion option to consider, if you don’t like an external hard drive dangling on your Mac.

    Nifty MiniDrive

    My MacBook Pro’s 256GB SSD ran out of space, so I bought Nifty MiniDrive with a 64GB memory card. Highly recommended.
