I would normally just test this out myself, but I’m in Spain now, maybe for a few months, and my CDJs and turntables are in London and I wont ship them out here – that’s the beauty of digital DJing for me, less bulk to lug around 🙂

Usually the DJ Software saves Beatgrids and cue points in a proprietary databases. (thats at least true for Traktor, RekordBox, Mixvibes, VirtualDj) (I think Serato saves them also in tags, but the tags are named with Serato as name prefix)
So they don’t overwrite each other, so nothing to fear.
And on a side note there is a Software coming, which can sync those stuff like Beatgrids and Cuepoints between different DJ-Software, its called Rekordbuddy 2.0.
Here an interesting interview on the topic:

    Nice.
How/where does RekordBox export these grids etc when you copy your songs to a USB stick for the gig?

I am not a RekordBox user, but as fas as I know, you have to export your files with RekordBox to the USB-Stick, and Rekordbox writes additional info (Beatgrid, Cuepoints, etc.) as well to the USB as an additional file.

Whichever way it’s done, it most likely will require a sync operation EVERY TIME you change something on another platform.

Let’s say you have all your stuff on Traktor, then you transfer it all to your RB stick for use in a club. While playing CDJs, you add a few cue points, a loop or two. Also you change a typo in a track title and correct a 78 bpm into 156. This information will be available as you read your USB stick back into your computer RekordBox. Now you have to sync that information back into your Traktor. You buy a few new tracks, prep them and all and sync all that stuff back over to RB.

Also I doubt, but I have to yet watch the full video, that RekordBox will just take over the beatgrid that Traktor provides or vice versa and highly unlikely whatever information you added to it (like drop beat).
