    Yes, you can chain mixers like that. You take the RCA master output of the 700 and plug it into one of the line inputs of the 600. Just remember to keep the channel on your mixer from hitting the red so you don’t blow the channel (I don’t think 600s have built in compressors like some of the newer models).

    If he’s badly in the red and distorting the sound, it will still sound like garbage but it shouldn’t damage anything (beyond his own mixer).

    Indeed, 0dB Rulez and Red Is BAD. Keep that in mind for all the stuff you have control over and if he runs his controller hot, you will get a 0dB signal into your end of things, just distorted input.
