Hi Cody,
Practical tip, be busy with prepping your set. At this point that trumps anything else. Whatever you don’t know yet technically is too late to use live at your first ever gig anyway. Remember, no matter how technically fluent and advanced you are, with the wrong track selection, you are out there. And nobody will notice if you don’t do a filter transition or echo out or record stop or … <fill in any of a 1000 possible transition methods>, but they will notice if your track selection is not good.
So, stick with what you know, have practiced (a lot) and are completely comfortable with. Be totally prepared with tracks, playlist and a rough idea of what your set should look like. Trust me when I say that having a live crowd in front of you will provide you with plenty of anxiety about doing a good job that worrying about “new” technical features should not be anywhere near your priority list.
