Controller is OK, but has no soundcard. I would have gone with the Pro Version.

    Speakers are total crap, sorry.

Laptop is decent, but be aware that this DELL line is known to overheat easily if you have a warm environment. So if you have a gig in a hot club or beach scenario be aware.

I had the overheating problem with my laptop once right after I got it, but that was because I was playing outside on my deck in the sun. Once I moved it into the shade, it was fine. I’ve either kept it in the shade or found some way to shield it, and it’s worked fine. Thanks for the warning though.

As for the speakers, I realise they aren’t the best. I’m just practing for now and do have a few pool parties lined up for the summer. So, these have been perfect for me. I do have a set of Aiwa speakers that still work. My stereo is long gone, but I saved the speakers. I thought about using those when I play the pool parties.

Frankly, using anything but PA speakers for any kind of gig will usually have you end up with busted speakers and/or amps.

But make do with what you have til you can buy something a bit more suitable.
