Tips on finding a good DJ mentor?

Look around your own scene, look for people that are (or already have passed) where you want to be. Just be bold, go up to them, explain and ask if they are willing to sit down with you a few times a year to bounce ideas and generally share their knowledge and experience with you.

Sounds like the lame answer, but hey, that is the best and most straightforward way imho
