I think you read another article than I did … but even then, a venue forcing you to use their gear instead of your own is wrong and a dinosaur imho.
Lots of BIG and VERY BIG names use controllers and the biggest and hottest of venues expect DJs to use whatever it is they are comfortable with.
If Traktor is your thing and you don’t need jogs, then the S8 will definitely open new opportunities I think. I had a play with it a week ago and decided it’s not for me (also I’d have to use Traktor which is very much not for me), but as with all thing NI it’s a good bit of kit and you can tell the thought that went into it.
