Not currently with the DJIO – whilst Mixx, Traktor, Cross & Virtual DJ work without limitations when it comes to getting audio out, Serato either has to be used with a certified controller (many examples out there), certified mixer (with a soundcard in it) or a certified soundcard (at the moment, only the Rane SL2, SL3 and SL4 are listed on their website – although I am fairly sure that the Denon DS1 is also compatible – https://serato.com/dj/hardware/mixers-interfaces).

Without a certified bit of hardware connected, Serato is limited to just 1 deck along with various other limitations – making is useless for DJing live with and pretty much only good for prepping your tracks..

    Hope that helps,

Indeed without a Serato certified hardware connected, Serato goes into “preparation mode”, which is one deck only with cue pointers to setup your track, beatgrid etc.
So when you think going Serato you need at least one of the cheaper Serato controllers.

You cannot DJ using Serato without a Serato-supported controller or mixer. In short, you cannot DJ with Serato on a laptop-only setup. I never got to use a Numark DJIO but the Behringer U-Control UCA-202 is still with me though I don’t use it so much lately after switching to Serato.

Mixxx is the best DJ software out there for laptop-only setup. And it’s free and works across Windows, IOS and Linux
