I had a similar situation last year after working a small pub for over 2yrs, I was asked to take a break as times where hard, I later found out that another dj had approached the boss and offered to do the job for half price, this bothered me for a long time but as I wasn’t enjoying the venue I’m now over that matter and the place in question is now less busy then before, I would say try not to take it personally the boss or owners are penny pinching, something better will more then likely come up for you.

Did you really expect the (new) owners to say to you (the hired help): “You know what, you are absolutely right. We made a terrible mistake raising the price to almost double. Dumb us!”.

Most bar/club owners are utter morons, so get used to this kind of treatment.

Welcome to the business world 🙂
Most people who own things (not only bars) really have no ideas and rely on people telling them. Sadly you are not one of those people and the ones telling/influencing are really dumb in your case… which is true for 70-80% of the businesses.
