    Whats’s up Daniel,

I use Serato with my Mixtrack Quad x DDJ SP1. So initially, If it were me, I would buy the software from Serato or another trusted dealer. As tempting as it seems $60 may sound crazy good but at the end you are paying for a software on a website that may or may not be legit. You even stated that the site doesn’t have a description or any information. Might as well be safe than sorry.

    Yeah, thanks! 🙂

I know, but it seems like a legit site, so I decided to ask here first if anyone knows anything about that. I would probably go for the safe option if the topic here doesn’t bring any final conclusions 😛

    Thanks again,

    Daniel

I have used dj kit website to buy products, speakers etc and are great, however I’ve never bought any software.

But what I have bought has been delivered the next day and is what they say it is.

Might want to check out Mixvibes Cross. 49 euro/dollar for the full version. And 80 bucks buys you the video/HID/DVS upgrade (and DVS will work with ANY sound card).

I thought about it. The thing I don’t like about it, is that it doesn’t support higher Pioneer Controllers. Yes, it supports my DDJ-SB , but If I’m about to upgrade at some point, I’ll have to use Serato DJ anyway in that case, so I would prefer to get used to it 🙂 I might buy that one as well as it’s that cheap.

Anyway – is that djkit.com legit enough and is the upgrade voucher the same as the Serato DJ from the official website?

    Thanks 🙂

What controllers doesn’t it support? I have the SX = supported. SX2 = supported (albeit it through the community, not the official version). I believe there is even an SZ mapping around. They have run an inventory under their users to see what controllers still need support. Needless to say all the Pioneers are on the list. I expect that support will come soon.

Also there is a very active community with some mapping wizards. And you get HID support for ALL CDJs with USB connection (you need the upgrade, but still).

I don’t know the DJKit website, so can’t comment on it’s dependability.

    I’ve checked around – djkit seems fine – I’ve just ordered 🙂

About MixVibes Cross – I might get that one as well 🙂 29$ is a bargain. And it has the thing that Serato lacks – key detect and most importantly key change ^^

    DDJ-ERGO
    DDJ-SX
    DDJ-SB
    DDJ-WeGo

Those are the only digital controllers that are supported officially, if they’ve updated it recently.

As I said I might get it next month, as it’s quite cheap 🙂

Yeah, as I said, I know there is an SX2 mapping around and I believe an SX and that pretty much covers all of them, not sure where they are on the XDJ-series.

The key change features is really neat indeed. And key match, like the sync button. Play a track at a certain key. Load another track in, hit key match and presto, same key. Sounds weird sometimes, but fun to play around with.

Yeah, I’ll think about it 😛 Probably next month as the next batch of money arrives 😀

What do you think about the effects? Serato seems to have more, and soem funky features in the expansion packs, which I also got today. The Pitch and Time is quite nice, and the flip mode is cool as well. I’m just about to play around with them tonight (just woke up…).

As for the mixing in Key – I’ll just use Key Finder, and if I really wont to mix two songs, I’ll just change the key in Audacity 🙂

Just my two cents, but if you have been on a controller only for a month now, there is quite some stuff to do before going with flip mode and such I think. Might want to make sure you can walk real good before trying to run. Things like manual beatmatching, regular EQ/Filter/FX transitions and such are relatively easy to learn, but hard to master.

And if two songs go together, I really don’t care if they are in key. Its a tool not a rule after all. I hardly ever change the key to force harmonic mixing, just use it on rare occasions as a creative tool.

I don’t use the key detection in Cross, like Key Finder it’s not dependable enough for my taste. I use Mixed In Key which gives a 95% accuracy.
