I am at the point where I will charge extra when they make me use their gear 🙂

Hard question to answer. Depends on so many factors. Including type of DJ-ing, location, how many people you can bring in. Stuff like that.

Different situation, different rates for folks, not something that universal, and you have to factor it in against their own local currencies to the rate also

    I am with Vintage:
If I have to use their gear I charge 20% extra.

If I bring my controller, no charge added.

If I have to rent PA and lights, then I pass on the rental fee +3% handling charge.

As for my rates in general: no I will not discuss them openly…

A general idea is to do some math and figure out how much the gig is going to cost YOU (transportation, rentals, any gear you’ve recently invested in) and then add an hourly rate for yourself on top of that. The total will be the price you charge
