I would simply e-mail them or whatever to ask if it will work.

With a Native Instruments controller the person who wants to sell it has to contact the support team to unregister it (or should do) so the next person can use it.
I don’t know how registration works with this though.

I purchased a used Hercules MK4 on Amazon that came with an LE version of Virtual DJ and had no problems. I also purchased a used Kontrol X1 MKII on Amazon (no software to worry about) when I bought the full version of Traktor Pro 2 through NI. Contacted NI about registering the X1 as it was still registered to whomever turned it over to Amazon and they were unable to contact the previous owner by email so it is a piece of unregistered kit, BUT it works.

Possibilities are that DJJUICED may require you to buy a new licence, especially if you want support. However, my Hercules had the Virtual DJ registration code on a sticker underneath the controller, check yours.

For what it’s worth, DJUCED isn’t exactly a stellar piece of software anyway… but the Instinct will work with a lot of the other DJ software available. If you’re on a budget, maybe Mixxx would be a good (free) choice. Alternatively, if you do a bit of shopping around, you can usually get a used copy of Traktor for about $50 (or less – I paid $35 for mine).

Or get Mixvibes Cross (Instinct standard supported). 49 bucks gets you the full version, including free upgrades. And since they support a ton of controllers, it will grow with you as you start upgrading to higher end controllers.

It’s the software that I use and I am very happy with it.

Yeah, Cross has some very cool features.
