    welcome!

I am sorry but Dekadance is not a widely used DJ software and also the components in your setup are not, so I am unable to help you quickly.

    no problem,

    thanks for replying.

my set up is on a very tight budget.

the mixer cost £60, the Numark CD £50 second hand, the software free and the turntable a gift:-)

right now I can’t record my mixes….but am enjoying learning how to play out

Well i personally have used the Free version of Virtual DJ HOME. I believe you are able to record all your songs to Digital with that version. It should be very simple to setup.. I hope that helps…

Hi, you’d need the Deckadance 2 DVS version to make it work. Since there are no routing switches on the mixer, I am gonna assume that you will need to set all the DVS stuff in the software. It probably has a thru “button” that you can click to switch between timecode and regular vinyl.

    thanks guys.

I’m going to have a look at it when I get in! It’s a pain as I can see a signal when I got into “timecode” settings for the phono but not the cd?? (I acutally got semi dvs as the record was affecting the track in deck a despite not being a timecode)The mixer has a output switch “phono/cd/pc”. When I switch to pc I get sound from deckadance but when I switch to phono/cd nothing goes though to deckadance. The version I’m using is deckadance 2.

I may just get an external sound card and run the master out through that back into my pc and record that way (more money:-(

sorry for all the questions but I’m really new to this and it confuses the heck out of me

    Anyway I’ll keeping on trying….

    Thanks again

Well, once you get the sound from timecode into the software you are halfway there. And the software should have a thru option to allow you to switch to regular CDs. This should not be the switch you mentioned.

By the looks of it you’d need to hook up your CD-players to the line inputs (not the CD), set the switch to PC and then configure the rest in Deckadance. I do not know if Deckadance has a record option for it’s output.

cheers DJ Vintage….thanks for the help.

I’ll give it a go later. I’ve already burnt the timecode CD sucessfully, just trying to get it all hooked up.

Is it worth persisting with deckadance 2 or would you change to traktor? I’ve got a free version of traktor 2 software but no timecode of interface (I can get a traktor 4 interface for £50 on gumtree). would that be easier to set up?

    which would you recommmend?
