Favorite key

Actually I would think that probably cord progression could be the same if they are all in the same key.
So maybe you just find that musical scale very pleasing and by chance those song used the same key for that scale.

While key distribution is quite even over all hit songs, it is known that some music scales and certain chord progressions have more “hit potential” as about 70% of the 1990-2000 Top 40 songs followed that progression. Funny enough past 2000 this broke up more and more.
