Personally I wouldn’t change a thing if it’s working fine now so shortly before a gig. No matter having a time machine backup and what have you. You won’t be restoring a backup in the middle of a gig!

Unless you are experiencing/have experienced the problems the update says it solves, leave things as they are, including the iTunes library, although this should be a sliglty easier thing to do. Copy your entire iTunes directory to the external drive, set the external drive iTunes library as the active one (not sure which key to hold when starting iTunes on the Mac, but I am sure Google is your friend here), fire up Traktor and see if all works as advertised (forgot if you have to point Traktor to the iTunes folder too in settings). If it does, you can remove your original iTunes folder. If it doesn’t, return the local iTunes collection as your standard and nothing has changed, no harm done.

    Hope that helps some

I changed over from Virtual DJ 7 to 8 the day before a party so I could do video. That part went fine but I wasn’t familiar with the software and I neglected to turn on keylock so when I adjusted the bpm the pitch was off. I eventually figured it out but it screwed me up for an hour or so.

Thanks for the great advice @DJ Vintage and @ScottoRobotto. I made it through that gig last week without making the changes.

This week I did apply the Traktor upgrade it’s fine so far.

I also moved all of my iTunes files to the external drive and pointed Traktor to the them. That’s all working properly, except for the track in my Track Collection, it’s still picking them up from the old location. Can someone please advise how to change it so that they go the new location?

Yeah, there is a way to redirect (find lost tracks or something) in Traktor. But since I stopped using Traktor almost two years ago and they took away my full license upgrade (cause I had to sell the LE with the controller I sold), I can’t go into the software and look it up for you.

Sure someone else here will be able to help with that though.

Thanks again DJ Vintage, I’ll check for it.
