ModeratorOrder a pair of Senhheiser HD-201s for 20 Euro. They will suit your needs more likely than not (ask Cheeku who has a pair and has used them at gigs already).
The next level of better quality will start at the 200+ range.
Those Sennheisers are a hidden gem.

ParticipantI already have a pair of HD-201s which I use with my computer. I don’t find them that they isolate well. I’ve been doing another round of research, and a new very interesting pair cropped up – Sennheiser HD 280 Pro.
It is mentioned as very good in isolation (32db), and have a good head grip which for me I guess is a plus for isolation. The cups look very big to accommodate bigger size ears, which is another plus. The slight negative is the 64ohms impedance, which might not be as loud as I want them to be directly from the Traktor Audio 2 DJ, or laptop sound card. However, I do have an Fiio E6 headphone amp, so I guess with that then they should be fine.
Any particular comments regarding these Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones?

ParticipantI think you’re going too much into the technical side of the gear. You’re a DJ and not a technician da 🙂
I don’t think you need to match the impedence levels so accurately, why not just get a pair that isolate well and instead of delving too much into the specs, get a headphone amp to go with it?
There’s no perfect pair of cans that’ll likely have everything you need, but you can always improvise.

KeymasterAll those you listed are overrated and bogus and I have tried them all.
If your max budget is 150 then get a pair of reloop RHP-20. They are the best 100 to 150 headphones.

ParticipantYeah I know I’m getting a bit technical but unfortunately the only way I can base my decision is on a combination of technical specifications, reviews and suggestions.
This will already be my 3rd pair of headphones. My first one was an AKG, which I bought hurriedly when I was starting and are not even over-ear but on-ear – very bad for isolation. The Numark should be over-ear, but they lack in isolation and volume.
Regarding the Reloop RHP-20 – They look interesting. However, this particular review (http://djworx.com/review-reloop-rhp-20-dj-headphones/), mentions specifically this about noise isolation:
So they’re not going to be worrying Sennheiser any time soon in this department. On my head, I found that they worked just fine. The vice like grip on my head helped with this, but I do not recommend them for public transport. People around you might admire the sleek minimalist looks, but they leak audio like mad. But they are DJ headphones, and for this they’re really good.
One of my most issue is isolation, so this worries me a bit. Did you try the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro? How do you compare them with the Reloop?
@DJCheeku – I already have a headphone amp, that’s why I’m kind of consider the 64ohms headphones, which seem to offer better isolation like the Sony MDR7506 or Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. Currently, i’m mostly in favour of the HD280 Pro based on what I’ve been reading last night.

ModeratorFirst of, what might work for someone else might not work for you and vice versa. Each head is different, each ear is different, each personal taste is different and each situation is different.
For example I have, in my entire life, NEVER worried about impedance of headphones. Also I dislike over-the-ear headphones with a passion, yet my on-ear HD25 IIs have served me very well in many circumstances, including VERY loud DJ booths featuring 15″ booth monitors.
As for Terry’s advice, the guy really HAS tested a zillion headphones and he’s picky. If he says it’s the best 100-150 buck headphone I’d believe him.
Regardless of what product you select, you will always find people saying bad things about it, as well as good things.
So, if you are looking for the pair of headphones without anybody saying anything “bad” about them, I am afraid you are in for a long wait.Especially since you are shopping in a nasty price bracket. It’s too much money for the budget ones but still 50-100 bucks short of the beginning of really good headphones. It’s nomansland frankly, with the odd exception (as stated by Terry).
I’d say manage with what you have for a few more months, bump up your budget to 200-300 bucks and you are in a way better price range for decent DJ headphones.December 12, 2014 at 8:51 am #2106301Terry_42
KeymasterThe RHP-20 are over the ear and grip really tight. I found they isolate extremely well.
However as with any headphone: If your headshape or ear size is very out of the norm, then only testing a few brands will help. But if your head is not extremely small or your ears so big they do not fit inside the RHP-20 earcups, I had no issues DJing with them in very very loud clubs. -
