No clue but I just used this a couple weeks ago to create some voice samples for an microcontroller-based Halloween project.

Thanks Kyle. That is the same website I was referring to. It takes some playing around with to get the right emotions out of the voices but it works. Does anyone know a few tips and tricks in using symbols (e.g ! mark)with this website?

If you have a little extra cash, consider paying for some raw vocals. I’ve never paid more than $25 for someone’s vocal, and they usually read a line I can piece together into several drops.

I wrote an article on name drops with four examples of good voices to tap on: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2012/02/dj-drops-guide/

I suggest paying $20 for some raw recordings, then tweaking them in Audacity or whatever WAV editor you prefer. You can Google around for free sound effects like laser blasts and swishes.

I have to say I like musicradiocreative they offer good service for decent fee and their voices follow your art direction to the letter. Even their added F/X are top quality.
