What do you like about DJay?

First software I really used, similar to iOS version that I’ve used for years, nice clean uncluttered look, very Mac, does most of what I want.

Well, if you like the clean look, Serato will be more up your street I think. It does most of the things for you and has a minimalistic look. Mapping is pretty self explanatory and the audio routing is done automatically. With Traktor you can pretty much set up everything you want, just the way you want. Some people like this (like me!), but some think it’s a bit overwhelming.

Thanks for your comments Marco, I am probably leaning more towards Serato.

I suppose what advice I’m really after is should I stick with what I have or would it be best to be with the popular choices for the reasons outlined above?

Stick to what mostly comfortable to you, imo, some software when I tried it, its like meh i felt like being alienated by the software aka Traktor, thus I prefered Serato it makes me feel more “homey” I guess…

Go with what you want to do, not what everybody else does. If you like DJay and it does everything you want, I wouldn’t see any need to switch. Forget those haters, they are just insecure about their own capabilities. If you do miss things in DJay, specify those and we can help you further.
