If I remember Womb correctly they have a tech on main stage that will setup your digital gear if you ask them…
So point 1 is out of the way.
And secondly a bit of a hickup is always OK, it is a live performance and even Japanese people tolerate a little hickup 😉 it makes you more human, just do not make a drama out of it and they will overlook it.

Honestly in my beginnings I literary took 100eds of gigs I was not ready for and it all worked out. Just jump in the cold water and learn to swim. I never had a bad experience. The only bad experience I had was actually not my fault, I was hired by someone who saw me twice, then I told him in the contract what music I play and the audience expected some other music (hip hop) what I was not playing at the time and did not have ready at hand (still the days of vinyl…).

    1) I always took the gigs, always. Took over a residency from someone once and given the attitude of the club owner I had a blast of the what-the-hell-am-I-doing-here’s but I consoled myself with the fact that although he was a moron I was getting paid.

    2) No regrets ever, always glad I gave it my best shot. You are probably a lot better than you think you are, however having humility about yourself is a virtue a lot of DJs lack, so don’t lose it.

Making mistakes is part and parcel of what we do, and if you didn’t make those mistakes you wouldn’t be learning anything either. Bottom line, if you get a shot at the big room you go for it.
I’d offer body parts to science to play Tokyo! Visiting Japan is top of my bucket list

With your avatar, who would have guessed? 😀

    Thanks for the reply homies.

I guess just go into it and come out better is the game plan. 🙂

Maybe the worry comes from the thinking, “WTF am I?! doing here?!” – but if I’m good enough to play in the club at all, I guess main stage shouldn’t be any different.

If anyone else posts that did pass up the gig, I would like to hear more about your reasoning.

For those who are interested in knowing if I’m technically there or not, check out the ‘Mixes’ part of the forum; posted one of my recent mixes there.

Not sure why anybody want to passed out a BIG opportunity if its knockin hard at their door just because “not technically ready” ?

My basic background I was trained to be a Club DJ, not long ago there is a local DJ Battle competition called “Pioneer DJ Battle Competition”

A battle DJ Competition ? its all about technical right there, which I do not possessed what so ever, not even a little bit, but hey this is a big opportunity for me, to get to know other DJ’s, to get my name out there, so yesssirrr i signed up and made it to the semi-final

The lack of technically its one of the main reason i quickly signed up with Digital DJ Tips Scratch Class as soon as they opened and its been an eye-opener for me !
