    Yes, you can mix in just your headphones. Handy when you’ve got thin walls and neighbours next to each of them.

    can you do it with all controllers or only certain types?

    Your controller should have a “cue mix” knob. Aka a knob which mixes the master signal with the cue of the selected channel you want to mix in.

    And it’s a bonus if your controller also has a “split cue” option. This allows you to have the cue signal in one ear and the master signal in the other. Very nice, unfortunately a lot more rare on controllers than it was on mixer (never understood why 😀 ).
