Soulful House, Nu-Jazz, Jackin’ House… Most of the stuff on Traxsource really. Don’t limit yourself to Beatport.

Thank you so much! Think nu-jazz is my favourite

Ghetto funk and a re-drum – rework pre 80’s, 90’s classic disco always good for opener also

Though Ghetto Funk can be a bit high-energy inasmuch as it does cause some ear fatigue.

To my opinion your warmup set should touch your audiences emotions, apart from any genre. Maybe trying to start with instrumental tunes and going over to songs with vocals and (a bit) more progressive stuff. What do you think?! 🙂

I think you have found something that you think will work. Go out and test it with real people. Their response will tell you if you are on the right way.

It works at the most of the jobs i do, so I think it´s a good tactic. Crossing the genres, knowing in what kind of mood the audience is, boosting it with music.

In it’s core that is what DJ-ing is about. Being able to read the crowd, sense the mood and being able to use the tools (skills and music) to steer it into the direction you want it to.
