Participantif you have other solutions in order to have effects with the turntable i appreciate 🙂

ModeratorThe T1 does not have FX send/return. So, unless you are willing to hook the DD7 in between master and PA, you are out of luck.
The Xone:92 has TWO stereo FX send/returns.September 24, 2014 at 10:34 pm #2062861gianni gianno
Participantthank you very much for the answer, but what happens if i connect the turntable to the input of the boss dd7 and the dd7 output in the input channel one of the mixer ?

ModeratorMy answer was based on the general possibility of sticking outboard FX (external FX) into the chain you mentioned.
Specifically with the DD7. Apart from a whole lot of extra cables or adapters (the DD7 uses 6.3mm jacks throughout) there’s the fact that you’d obviously need two (one for each TT). Then there is the fact that the DD7 is an instrument FX. So I don’t know if they are hi-Z or lo-Z or both. This (the impedance difference) can make it feasible or impossible. But I don’t know the DD7 well enough to say something defnite on the subject.
Bigger problem is that it can only work if the 4000s have line outputs. If they only have phone out, you are (still) out of luck. You cannot hook up a phono output to a line input. Both signal level (significantly less on phone than line) and EQ (phono inputs have a so-called RIAA correction curve) are the reasons this won’t work.
And all of this obviously only if you are really playing vinyl records and not doing DVS. It is possible with DVS if you are using an external soundcard and run the outputs from it through the DD7 before going into the mixer inputs.

Participantthanks again, very clear 🙂
just for information: my mixer is a traktor certified, it has 2 channels that can work in 3 modes (phono, line and usb). When i use them in usb mode i have tracks from the computer and have automatically effects from traktor. Right now i`m using channel 1 in phono mode (using my turntable) and channel 2 in USB mode. I just would like to have some effects also on the turntable.
so, is there any way> ? it has one rca cable going out and one hole for “remote control” (it says)
thanks 🙂

ModeratorUhm … reading back and taking a close look at the mixer, it has an FX section. So you could just run the necessary FX from the mixer, no?
So, now I am bit lost why you’d want another delay, while you have a perfectly nice one already in your mixer.

Participantno, when i switch to phono, the channel works just as a normal mixer channel, without effect. Unfortunally the effects work only if the channel is in USB mode or in timecode mode, but i dont like timecode, i like to use my original vinyls. That`s why i wanted to connect the turntable to effect station and then the effect station to the channel of the mixer.
What do you think about the RMX 500 effect station?
Also, the turntable looks to have only phono cable, what happen is i put a little converter in order to have line and then put it in effect station and then the effect station to channel 1 on mixer?
thanks

ModeratorIt all seems like a lot of work, but yeah, a phono/line converter would work to get the necessary line signal.
And I assume that you can just hook the RMX 500 in the signal path.
So yes, I would think this would work. Again, quite a bit of money and effort (and an increases setup time) to get delay on vinyl. That is your choice of course 😀 .

ParticipantThank you very much.
Do you confirm that i can connect the delay pedal using cable converters?
How do you suggest? I was wondering if i can connect the delay to the master out of the mixer, or directly to turntable. How it will work in your opinion ?
thank yoy veru much 🙂

Participantthe interface of the mixer is this http://www.123dj.com/mixers/pioneer/djmt1back.jpg

ModeratorKinda depends if you want the delay to affect to total (=master) signal or just the TT signal I guess.
If you are using the RMX500, it will accept line level inputs and you should be able to hook it up either in the TT signal path or in the master path.
Again, I dare not say anything about the pedal with 100% certainty as I am not familiar enough with all the specs of the pedal. I said before it’s an instrument FX and instrument signals are different (impedance, level) than line signals. So you’d need to check with the pedal manufacturer (or read the specs) on that one.
I’ll stick with my thoughts that it’s big cabling spaghetti for the simple purpose of adding an external delay to a TT signal.
But that, obviously, is your choice.September 30, 2014 at 1:04 pm #2065411DJ Vintage
ModeratorAlso, please don’t post this question under another header again. We don’t appreciate the extra work.

Participantyes sorry. I will not publish further quetions if they are the same.
I saw that the DD7 is usually connected to XONE 92 mixer.
that`s why i asked 🙂

Current Draw: 55 mA (DC 9V, D.Time control at center)
Weight: 450 g (0.99 lb.)
A/D Conversion: 12-bit logarithmic compression
D/A Conversion: 12-bit logarithmic compression
Input Impedance: 1Mohm (FET Input)
Residual Noise Level: -95dBm (IHF-A)
Recommended Load Impedance: 10kOhm or greater
Delay Time: 12.5 to 800ms
Recommended AC Adaptor: PSA SeriesOctober 1, 2014 at 9:23 pm #2066541DJ Vintage
ModeratorWell, if it works with a Rane …
Line outputs have 10KOhm impedance, so that seems to fit
