    Download the asio file from native instruments download site? You should see it immediately when you log in.

    Update the S4 Driver, the ASIO driver (if seperate) and check if the distortion goes away if you increase the amount of samples, ie. increase latency.

    Thanks for above advice, looks like it was my Wi-Fi causing the processor to overload works ok when switched off. Also advised to go for an external audio interface with ASIO files.

    The S4 has an external audio device that is as good as most external soundcards, I cannot see why this would be any better.
