    Honestly I would just get an S4 and be done with it.

    Believe me I’ve thought about it, and if I could afford an S4 I’d probably go for it, however I’m working n the principle that if I start playing out again (after a long break!) I’d rather just pitch up with a couple of X1s and my laptop and plug into a mixer.

    But yeah, I appreciate that an S4 meets all my reqiurements in 1 handy package, I’m just being difficult (and I love the X1 functionality and touchstrips a LOT!)

    hey andy

    i went from a timecode setup with 2 decks with a soundcard using various softwares to a 4 deck setup with the s4 and traktor pro2.

    from my experience things become less reliable and dont work smoothly when you start adding bits of kit from different manufactures when using a laptop, the set up for it all becomes totally custom and you’ll spend hours trying to get it the best you can.

    there are a lot of places that do 0% finance for dj kit if thats an option?
