Workflow trumps everything in my opinion.

It’s a fair point. I’m trying VDJ a little more seriously just to get the hang of it, and honestly, it has a lot of features that DO fit my workflow, but the core loop of my workflow does work better with Traktor.

    *sigh*

I’m thinking maybe I might do well to get comfortable with both, just because then I will have flexibility to lean either way depending on my need in a given moment.

    Exactly, workflow dominated,
I hated Fruity Loops workflow, i dont care if the top producer DJ use these, the environment of Fruitty Loops is just to meh and alienated for me,

Yeah, I’m definitely finding myself not embracing the VJD workflow very easily.

From my pedestrian point of view, it sounds you will be able to provide the perfect point of view where you are able to make Traktor and VDJ work together, somehow, to you advantage. Why not figure how to use both, if they both work so well for you?

That is still my intent is to learn both, yeah, especially since it seems like the VDJ-style workflow is more similar to the common workflow in software these days… but BOY is Traktor better for me.

One thing I’ve found tonight which is really huge – I don’t care for the EQ in VDJ, or at the very least its default configuration. I think maybe I need to tweak the centers to get it to work the way I want it too, but if I drop out the Bass EQ, it still leaves too much of the bass drum which sounds really terrible.
