Like DJ Rizki said, you’ll probably have better luck on a different forum. Check out http://www.laidbackluke.com/forum/
The members there are very helpful and even Laidback Luke himself will give feedback on completed tracks if posted in the correct thread. To name a couple of artists, I’m quite sure GTA as well as Juyen Sebulba (producer of “Superjam”) got their start from this forum.
As far as getting your synth to sound like Zero 76, close is good. I realize you’re trying to recreate certain sounds, but seriously explore your own. Try adding subtle effects to make it stand out more and make sure you EQ and compress it correctly to allow it to stand out in your mix.
I use to write songs that sounded like the mainstream tracks of everyday, but once I dug deep and started experimenting with my own sounds (my roots go back to acid, tunnel and techno) was when I truly started become my “own”. When I mimicked other sounds, I wasn’t giving myself the flexibility to be creative because the standard was already set.
Those that are different stand out.
But back to creating the instrument, check that forum. Best of luck to you bro!
