ParticipantI has a nasty bug in the mac version π can’t use pioneer CDJ’s as sound card, but they are aware of the bug and a fix is on it’s way. Played a gig last friday ended up driving home to get my DDJ SX. Apart from that it works grate. I haven’t used the sound cloud option and will not be using it. And now that it seams more and more is getting the booth from SC I think they need to find some other online service to hook up with.

ParticipantI’ve had some random crashes with 3.2, but the Soundcloud option is nice. Not something I would use live atm with the random crashes. 3.0 was a lot more stable.

ParticipantCross been update to 3.2.1 but I haven’t had the chance to test it with cdj’s so don’r know it the sound card problem is fixed. I will get an XDJ-Aero end of this week or start of next, And I read in the 3.2(RC) tread that someone had this problem with Aero so I really hope it’s fixed.
Anyway personal opinion here, the best future of Cross 3.2 is the ability to hide the Soundcloud tab and I hope that they start working on things that most of their customers really need, Like better FX.
They had problems between beta to RC because in the mean time Soundcould made some changes and cross could not connect. SO what if you are playing to and somewhat rely on SC for the gig but SC made some changes over night and now cross does not connect when you need it.
Cross is still the best for me but I really wish they work on getting better at basic stuff instead of something of everythingJuly 10, 2014 at 10:20 am #2042511Marco Solo
ParticipantFrom my understanding this is a cooperative effort to link Cross to Soundcloud. So Soundcloud blocking the connection from Cross is unlikely, at least in the near future. Also, you have the ability to hide any tab you want already. IIRC you just need to right click on one of the tabs and you can check the boxes you want to see.

KeymasterApart from no Mapping for the Terminal Mix 8, it is OKish π

ParticipantI it was an cooperative effort I’m sure SC would at least set a requirement that you have an account with SC to play in Cross and most likely need a premium account like with Djay and Spotify.
As it is now you don’t need an account or even log in to play songs.July 10, 2014 at 7:25 pm #2042623Marco Solo
ParticipantSo you think Mixvibes can just choose what they implement without consent of Soundcloud? That’s incredibly naive.

ModeratorSlow down guys.
It’s very well possible that your Cross program sends a little code with it when activating soundcloud, thus preventing you from having to login or have a premium account.
In which case it IS a cooperative effort, where they choose to create the integration at application level rather than at user level (as IS the case with the Spotify integration in DJay 2).

ParticipantWell I downloaded 3.2.1 and all my issues are fixed NICE! Don’t know if I will be using it except when I am in a situation to use the remote app (which I like, best on the market).
Also, I noticed when I used my Denon MC-2000 they didn’t program a deck 2 gain knob (deck 1 has) LOL and you can’t program it in unless you duplicate the mapping first and program it to the copy. Easy enough but what did I pay $50 for? Who over looks these things when programing them SMH.July 13, 2014 at 1:06 pm #2043018DJ Vintage
ModeratorWell, I had a horrible experience with Cross and my two SC2900s during a charity event. Ended up playing CDs (you know I come prepared for emergencies π ). My iPad was in use with my live sound mixer.
All kinds of stuff went wrong, from unexpected shutdowns (crashes in layman’s term π ) to horrific sound from one of my player, to one of my players freezing up (to the point I couldn’t get CDs to play). At some point after restarting Cross it started to say it couldn’t load tracks and to check audio settings – which were set correctly of course.
Now I WAS using a non-powered USB hub (the 2900s are clearly not USB-powered so a regular hub SHOULD suffice) and I had it all tested for two hours the day before. The other thing was that we were on less than stable power (it was in the courtyard of a medieval castle) and power was fluctuating between 210-220V.
Guess it’s off to test. I will also test while using the soundcard in my X1600 mixer stuck straight into the MBP (no USB hub). Enough options, but takes time to test them all.
Oh well, it’s software. Remember a time with Traktor after an upgrade that my MC6000 froze to the point of total reset both MC6000 and Traktor. I guess it can happen to the best.
Your comment, Gerard, at least shows me that they take reports seriously and try to fix things quickly.
Greetinx.

ParticipantIt sounds like you had the same problems I had, only live. 3.2.1 is only for mac though, I don’t know what you’re using. Windows is still on 3.2.0.

ParticipantHey Vintage, things happen. All operating systems and software and hardware hiccup to someone somewhere everyday. This time was your turn.
I think it was petty of me to point out Cross left out the deck 2 gain control for the mapping of Denon MC-2000. Maybe the same guy programmed your SC2900’s maps and audio? OK not a funny joke right. But seriously I cannot explain it, I am very moved to stick with Cross. I like all the compatibility they have from any soundcard for DVS, import 3rd party playlists (export Rekordbox) and as I mentioned before they got the remote app correct. I love the GUI too. All the features. I used Serato DJ 1.6.3 to work this past weekend. I always said Serato “sounded” the best (compared to Traktor) but I believe Mixvibes “sounds” just as nice now. Almost as warm as analog. I am not turning this into a comparative discussion. I just want to have somewhere to talk to other users of Cross as most of my local DJ friends don’t use anything else but one DJ program. I cannot help I am a fanatic of DJ technology, thus we are on this website. It’s good to have alternatives.July 13, 2014 at 9:09 pm #2043071Gerard M
ParticipantI just noticed that when using iTunes node to select tracks from iTunes playlists folder you cannot see tracks in sub folders or playlists
July 15, 2014 at 3:40 pm #2043380DJ Vintage
ModeratorHadn’t seen that (don’t use iTunes for collection management – yet). But will see what that is tomorrow.
Whereabouts in the world are you again?
