You might want to check out this part of The Book on harmonic mixing by the makers of Mixed In Key software:

It’s excellent advice on what components should be in your DJ set or mixtape.

And perhaps some people here will be able to give you some more pointers specific to your particular situation.

Also checked out some of the mixtapes that this guy made Hed Kandi, he made a lot of those “beach” themes in his mixtape
