ParticipantThe SC works really well but I doubt I’ll be using it anytime in the near future as none of the places I play have open internet connection that I can use. Also there is really no way of knowing what the quality of the songs are, you need to download(catch) the songs to get them analyzed before you know their BPM and Key.
Cross is still to me the best DJ software out there and all the stuff I need and use for my DJ’ing is still working 110%.
I don’t mind them adding stuff I’m might not use as long as the stuff I use aren’t broken.
Really hoping FX are on their to do next listMay 27, 2014 at 8:50 pm #2034323DJ Vintage
ModeratorI am not a fan of having any kind of internet connection going while actively gigging, well I DON’T do that, period 😀
When I sit at home with my SC2000 next to my keyboard, it’s a nice way to use the discover function and just listen to stuff, try quick mixes and such. You can then take your history list and purchase the tracks you liked, right?

And +1 on Cross in general. I had to do some track reviewing recently while looking for something specific and I was once again amazed at how such a simple feature manages to take away one of my big hang-ups with digital music collections. In the CD days, I’d pop in a disc and I could skip through 24 tracks in nothing flat. Not with DJ software. That is, until Cross came along. It works great and the way they implemented it is just spot on.
Oh well, fans I guess 😛June 11, 2014 at 6:17 pm #2036846Gerard M
ParticipantI downloaded it but haven’t installed it yet. 3.2 that is but I have to thank you vintage. I forgot all about this software. I got it free sometime shoe 1.5 free upgrade 2.0 but thought it was lacking some stuff I liked. I remember you raving about it on a post somewhere. Well I used it out last weekend and loved it. I felt like the sound was harsh and low end lacking a little but I am confident it was my settings (auto gain or limiter or just maybe I can lower the gain in general) what’s your sound chain like if you don’t mind me asking?
As usual I am off topic. So my thoughts on 3.2 I am not afraid to try it while working. And I must say when I work lots of my requests are from sound cloud when it’s not on amazon or in my dj pool yet.
Needless to say none of my dj friends use mixvibes (yet) so I am glad you are posting and talking about it so we can converse on it 🙂June 12, 2014 at 8:57 pm #2037030DJ Vintage
ModeratorHey Gerard, you are welcome 😉
My sound chain would be MBP running Cross, MC6000 mk2 controller soon, til then a Denon X1600 mixer with two SC2900s. Then straight into my PA. I don’t have any problems with sound, quality or level.
Good to hear you are enjoying this software. It’s a worthy piece of software imho.

ParticipantThis is more than a welcome addition to Cross with the Soundcloud.
Algoriddim integration to Spotify its not that appealing, since Spotify not available in my country lol, what a shame !June 13, 2014 at 8:40 am #2037101Terry_42
KeymasterI really like Cross, but to me that is more like a gimmick. Not the most useful thing. I mean c’mon how complicated is it to upload something to soundcloud manually?
Even in other programs I never use build in upload software as it lacks the full control you have if you do it manual.June 13, 2014 at 8:59 am #2037103DJ Vintage
ModeratorEsteemed colleague, the mentioned integration does NOT pertain to the upload feature but to the integration in downloadable content.
Much like the spotify integration in DJay 2

ParticipantI am having trouble installing the RC. It just opens up my Terminal app. How about you guys? Any help appreciated as the MixVibes website forums don’t have much.
ThanksJune 17, 2014 at 6:04 pm #2037841DJ Vintage
ModeratorHi Gerard,
which version, Mac or PC?
June 17, 2014 at 6:17 pm #2037857Gerard M
ParticipantHey Vintage, thanks for the fast reply. Mac OSX 10.9.3
I think I brought this problem on myself. I was using Cross 3.1 just fine over the weekend.
For several reasons I decided to wipe out my Macbook and reinstall the OS. I might have to do it again but revert back to Mountain Lion. My Pioneer XDJ-Aero won’t work with either with Rwkordbox nor Traktor LOL SMHJune 17, 2014 at 6:26 pm #2037861DJ Vintage
Moderatorhmmm … I just reinstalled my MBP with OS X 10.9.2 and just ran 10.9.3.
I’ll try the RC on that too. It worked immediately on my PC (where I have all versions since 2.3 or so LOL).

ModeratorWent to the forum, download the dmg file. Opened it … dragged the RC1 to the apps folder. Clicked it and presto! Runs like a charm :-).

KeymasterEsteemed colleague, the mentioned integration does NOT pertain to the upload feature but to the integration in downloadable content.
With the average soundcloud content being very sub par as far as downloadable content goes this is even more useless in my opinion.
All songs that I really liked on soundcloud are locked and they have an iTunes link in the description to get it, or are uploaded as 128k or less as a preview.
Most content (except for some spanish rap or other odd things) that is in appropriate quality is rather awkward…Honestly I would not even use Spotify in djay… all gimmicks to me.
Nevertheless I still like Cross, just not for that feature(s)….

ModeratorNo argument from me. Just pointing out new features 🙂
About it’s usefulness, everybody has to make up their own minds. I actually used my iDJ Pro last weekend with DJay 2 and my phone tethered to my iPad. I have to say, for the purpose of the day, it was kinda nice. Needed some hip-hop and stuff, that I don’t carry tons around of and found it easily on spotify.

ParticipantMaybe my problem is I didn’t drag it to the app folder? I opned it from my download folder. I doubt that but I will try in a little bit. Let you know.
