Hi Kullide, welcome to the forums.

Even an hour of practice a day, heck even HALF an hour a day over several months WILL improve your skills by leaps and bounds. Actually, it’s better to practice daily for 30 minutes than 2 1/2 hours once a week, imho.

If you want to post links to material/mixes you made, the Music, Mixes and Shows forum is the place to put them.

    Enjoy and greetinx.

    Hey and welcome!

Do not worry about much text, we are used to it since Chuck is the master of walls of text 😉

    Thanks for the greeting guys.
(Assuming your name is chuck, and if you don’t mind) Yeah Chuck I’ve heard, and learned, that the best way to learn things is many spread out hours rather than concentrated efforts, thanks for the tip!
Also I’ll be getting a laptop in the coming weeks that will have all of my content in one place and I’ll deiniftely be able to start practicing more consistently.

(And I will remember where to post my creations from now on, thanks)

Quick question for you guys though, would you say this computer is adequate for DJing?
    I5 processor
    8 GB RAM
    13.3 in screen
    256 GB SSD

And if it’s not, it still would 😀 . Great specs. Only thing for me would be screen size (I can’t handle under 15″ because of old eyes LOL). Other than that, processor, memory and disk (SSD) all seem to be good.

    Greetinx.

    Not a Mac.
I still have to run plenty of school related software so I can’t go with Apple this time around.
Thank you guys for the help though, I’ve been holding off until I could get the absolute good-to-go from experienced DJs.

Tip: Even with a relatively small SSD (256GB instead of a 1TB hard drive), I’d seriously consider making it a dual-boot system. Depends a little on how much music you plan on having on it, but that way you can make it so the day to day use doesn’t interfere with the DJ side which will greatly enhance the chance of faultless working.

Would you say 120GB is an adequate partition for the DJ/Production side of things?

Not if you intend to take 150GB of music with you :D. Say about 20GB for windows 7 plus your DJ software (roughly 30GB system files max) and the amount of music you need. So with a decent library (90GB) of music, 120GB should fit you fine.

Or just get a second external hd just for your music pleasure
