Take a look at the ones that were spotted in Frankfurt recently by Terry and Phil. Alpine has a similar pair. Both “should” work under headphones, but it’s personal.

My advice, don’t buy anything else til you saved up for a set of custom plugs. I gave them to my son for his birthday!

I use a pair of alpine plugs intended for use on motorcycles. The reason I have those is because I, you guessed it, also own a motorcycle. They fit perfectly under my headphones but they do take away some of the dynamic range.

Vintage I was looking to get a pair of the Thunderplugs that Phil saw at Musikmesse, but the thing is I cant find anywhere that ships them to the US :(.

I want a pair that do a decent job of attenuating the sound and keeping the quality across the dynamic range(as best as possible). I really can’t wait till i’ve saved up enough to get custom plugs because as I said I’m already suffereing from permanent tinnitus(so I don’t want it to get worse) and I am currently playing gigs so I really have a need for an instant solution right now.

I suppose the V-Moda Faders would fit comfortably under headphones since they were made by an audio-related company.

If you want a really good system, but they come with a price:
    http://www.etymotic.com/hp/er20.html

    or even those

The second ones are fairly expensive but the best stuff I could find.
Etymotic is a well known company in the US and only makes highes quality gear, the US Navy uses their earplugs… so you should easy get some, even at amazon.

I got my custom plugs from Alpine too. Their Dutch office is like 10 miles from me or so, nice and easy.

I suffer from permanent tinitus too (I’ve just turned 20 btw) and you took a good decision to buy earplugs. All I can say is that mine perfectly fit under my headphones, I must admit that it’s more comfortable when I don’t wear them, but comfort or earing, the choice is yours… 🙂

Or we could convince our generation to stop listening to music over 80 deci… nah I’ll go with the earplugs.
