If you do a lot of fake hand moves to make it look cool (which is valid) do not film it in closeup, as then anyone notices you do not do anything but let the first song play.
Bringing in the second song… train wreck, not mixed in key, but brought in the melody so it clashed with song 1, thankfully filtered out the baseline but then switched awkwardly.
Lots of room to improve that mixing.

I can’t follow you on the “fake hand moves” I do tend to be a bit all over the place when I mix. Battle droid and You make me are actually the same key, but I am not going to pretend that the transition was good !
The reason it is called OneShot is because I only give it one shot and then upload it, so that why I mess up some times.
Do you have any mixes ?

We let it stand there with the hands 🙂
If 2 songs are in the same key then you actually have to bring in the second song on the same note that the first one plays and not on a sub tone that the scale in the first one does not use… hence the train wreck…
Time that song and you are good to go, the timing was off just a little but it sounds really odd if you miss it with those 2.

Kudos for doing one shots, it is meant as constructive critique my friend and how some people might view the video. In my 20+ years as DJ I know loads of promoters and how they react when you send such a video to them for reference. So I just want to help you out there. So if you robo move a lot like that some more friendly perspective for the cameras might help. Especially angles from a higher viewpoint and more from the front are likely to get better attention.

I don’t do mixtapes anymore, the people I care about know me already. You probably can find some festival footage on youtube…

But you are right I should make one here for digitaldjtips for the heck of it, when I find the time.

I am absolutely not scared of critique, that is why I put my stuff here in the first place 🙂
I am kind of a perfectionist so if I did not work like that I never get any mixes out there, but I am gonna look for other options to get my mixes done so I could stop uploading train wrecks ^^

I listened to your mix some time back at work, and I agree with Terry that at that one spot the clash was quite nasty, but overall I think the mix was still enjoyable. I didn’t watch the video, so can’t comment on that, but I’m interested in seeing what else you put up.
