KeymasterI had some issues with USB 3 early on, but not as of late. So you should be fine.
Hell of a good machine you got there!March 14, 2014 at 5:09 pm #2010902DJ 2-Easy
ParticipantCheers Terry. My G5 tower decided to say “no more” a month ago, so I decided to replace it with another laptop instead. And donated my old MacBook 17 as the new family computer for homework, web browsing etc. Plus Apple are doing 0% finance at the moment………it was rude not to hahaaaa
At least i wont have to worry about that little audio blip I was experiencing with my old MacBook now.

KeymasterYeah you should have headroom for the next 5 years at least hehe
Congrats on the machine sounds awesome.March 15, 2014 at 2:14 pm #2011040DJ 2-Easy
ParticipantWell, had a good session with the new Mac last night and can gladly report absolutely no issues at all.
It was great, no audio blips. And the TM2 just feels smoother and more responsive 🙂
That could be the combination of Serato 1.6 and the new Mac, but it definitely felt gooooooooooodMarch 16, 2014 at 4:19 pm #2011191Terry_42
KeymasterGlad it works out 🙂

ParticipantHmmmmm, might have jumped the gun a bit with the “no issues” post.
When i start Serato it recognizes the controller but refuses to work (trax encoder/menu buttons do not function) so cannot load any tracks. Even when i manually load them on the laptop, they still will not play from the controller. If i press play on the laptop it starts playing but with no sound.
I seems to sort itself out after about 5mins/restarting controller and Serato several times?!?!
Is this a USB3 issue?Cheers guys

KeymasterHmm might rather be a Mavericks issue, some users reported that in Mavericks they have to switch stuff on in the right order to do it.
Some reported the following works:
– Have your controller switched OFF
– Start Serato DJ
– Wait till all the library loading and iTunes display is working (aka you see everything and the bottom line is no longer showing any tasks, CPU is going down)
– Switch Controller ON
– Again wait for like 20 seconds for Serato to get the controller and switch to DJ modeThis startup procedure seems to work for many.
All I can say is that official Mavericks support should be done by 1.6.1 which is around the corner…

(Sometimes I aim to misbehave but that is another story hehe)March 27, 2014 at 8:56 pm #2019053DJ 2-Easy
ParticipantWell Terry, unfortunately the 1.6.1 update has made no difference at all to my issues. Its still behaving randomly for the first 15mins.
Any other ideas as to why this may be happening?
At least you knew where you stood with a pair of 1200’s and vinyl, this is starting to annoy me now I’ve just encountered one problem after another with my digital r(d)evolution 🙁March 28, 2014 at 8:38 am #2019245DJ Vintage
ModeratorI would say it isn’t likely to be your new MacBook. That brings it down to either a software issue or a hardware issue in the reloop. Any friends that have different DJ software (MAC or Windows) (mixvibes, traktor, vdj) that you can try your reloop with. Or other friends that have other Serato compatible controllers you could try on your macbook?
Maybe a store somewhere nearby that sells DJ gear where you can ask politely if they can help check stuff out?

ParticipantUSB cable?
I thought spending £1450 on a new Macbook would resolve any issues i previously had…..how wrong can ya be eh!
I can take it back to the local store i got it from and they can check it out i suppose.
Ive posted on Serato “support” but not had a reply in 24hrs…….not very supportive!!Reloop support next, lets hope they have an answer
Cheers guys.

KeymasterDid you post on the Serato forum or write to support email?
If you write a support email they usually reply quite fast. -
