Good transitions. Share tracklist maybe ? I think this is something we DJs should do when we post mix to help the artists and the others DJs but that’s just my point of view of course. 🙂
Anyway you chose good songs too, you would have a looot of success in a club near when I live they mostly play this type of music and even if it is not a big club everybody knows it aha !

I followed you because I can see your January mix is good too so I’ll stay tuned !
Btw this voice at the begining of your February mix sounds incredibly anoying I think haha, maybe some people like this but I must admit that I tend to skip the mix when there is this type of intro…

    Hi m8

I have to agree with you about the DJ drop at the begining. But that is done to avoid Soundcloud’s automatic algorithm that automatically checks the first 10-15 secs of every upload to Soundcloud. They use a Shazam type program and if they detect copyright material they pull your mix. 😉

The track list is fully listed on my Soundcloud page – all there for you mate.

I’ve also gone back in time and uploaded full track listings for all my mixes 🙂

Glad you like them – what is your location in France?

One thing you could do to avoid the algorithm is making your own intro if you’re a producer, or have someone do it for you. Like playing the first track of your set with a piano, and then the track slowly comes. You could take a look at Swedish House Mafia’s intro for their One Last Tour for example. They didn’t start with the “real” song, but with various synth stabs and strange noises while the song is coming. 🙂

    Wow – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdG89YMLwQ8

For me on a somewhat smaller scale – I needed something rinse & repeatable.

You can ask a friend for a favour once – every month gets a bit much.

Sadly, i’m not a producer nor do I have those skills. I could challenge you every month, but pretty sure you’ll tire 🙂

What could someone like me who has no production skills do that would improve my intros?

I have audacity installed and a basic understanding of that DAW.

Then you could, with your DJ software, use an acapella and start slowly and then you pitch it up and a song comes in. That would be cool and you would start your mix with a mash-up, that would show your skills !
Axwell from Swedish House Mafia did something like this when I saw him at Cap d’Agde, well it’s not a mash-up but he started the acapella at something like 90bpm (and it goes 128bpm at the end of the intro) :

Starting a mix like this would probably avoid Soundcloud program (unless you use a Rihanna or Michael Jackson acapella which will obviously be detected) 😉

You’ve given me some good food for thought here.

I’m gonna give this some time see what occurs…. 🙂

You should use MixCloud or MixCrate. Unlike SoundCloud they don’t give DJs any hassle.

    I post to:

    DDJT
    Soundcloud
    Podomatic
    Mixcloud
    House-mixes.com

Guess i’m putting my mixes together so they are uploadable to all without the need to be site specific.

    Excellent!

I mainly reserve my anti-SoundCloud view when it’s DJs who complain about their mixes being deleted, but they won’t upload on other sites.

Just linked my Podomatic Podcasts to ITunes – can’t wait to see how they look there 🙂
