I like the main font, but I don’t like the italic one you’ve used for the extra info, don’t think they go well together.

Black and Red don’t go well for the kind of mood you want to set. The flyer is very basic.

This is what we use for our events. We buy the one we like for the event, then have a graphic artist customize it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’m having my graphic artist actually put it together, but I just wanted to get something up for the time being. I agree that I don’t like the font of the ital. text. I may remove it altogether.

Also, Dav, I just went wit hthe black/red to go with my logo, but I might go more 80s with a paint splotch type design like pictured below.

I think the Flyer needs more color to it. Make it flashy!! Even if the Event isnt Flashy you want something that will grab the eye and say wow that looks pretty cool.

As well you should list who the DJs or DJ is, any affliations the DJ has, what the drink specials are.

And having the name Battle At the Buzz to me sounds like it will be a DJ battle…not a music battle…I think something like
So and So( DJ name or Promo group) presents THE FLASHBACK! All the Greatest tunes, one hit wonders of the 80s and 90s!

    Or something along those lines.

Keep in mind how it will actually turn out when printed, and printing costs. Try to do a trial run when you are satisfied with a design. I agree with Phil , use one font choice. The folks will know it’s an 80’s event by the text on the flyer, no need to over do it with the pictures of Madonna etc. If you want it to stand out, keep it simple. The more simple it is the more memorable it will be (think of the logo for apple). Try to use ONE thing that will bring the 80’s to mind, if you are set on using imagery in addition to text to create and 80’s theme. Then build around that. It should all fit together as a concept. If the font is simple and clean like Helvitica, then the color scheme and overall design should follow suite. If bold, then bold over all design concept ..to keep an overall unified flow, Easy on the eyes and it makes sense to the audience. G’luck!
