The mixtrack is the only decent option there, the herc is a gimmiky toy and the jogs feel weird, and the omni doesn’t have touch sensitive jogs.

I don’t use traktor so not sure sorry.

sweet sweet, cheers, i am not to bothered about the touch jogs, i find they are a bit annoying at times and cause a bit of lag, maybe that was just VDJ.

If i get the mixtrack should i invest in a soundcard? If i am using a MacBook Pro !3″ i7

With the Mixtrack Pro, you do not need a soundcard. It already has a soundcard built into it. so buy the controller , get your software and start the party

Yeah but the thing is is will i need one? if the output is not from the consol and from the computer output will it be required or is there not really any need with the Mixtrack (Non-Pro)

I use a mixtrack pro with vdj 7 pro, and it’s a good match, i do mobile work with it and have no problems with it at all, it has a built in sound card, so you won’t need to buy one, i plug it thru a numark mix2 allinone cd player thru the RCA connections and then into the speaker but you could get wires to run straght to a amp or power speakers ( i run with the mix2 because i want back up if my laptop goes down, not that it has and have run it for over 20 hour) my only complaint is that the headphone output is a little quite.

Build quality is a bit plastic and the pitch controls are a little weak as they bent when placed in bag for transport but since have got a cheap flight case for it which is well padded and have not had a problem since (they bent back into place) the touch jogs are nice very sensitive when in scratch mode, but when turned off won’t effect the music and are like a pitch bend.

Overall i like it have had some cracking nights using it and would recommend it for a beginner/intermidate user

(note this is my first controller and was brought on a budget, however i did spend many hours researching this and other controllers within my budget and outside of it, then i did a test drive at my local dj shop on all of them as well, basicly i got them to set up the ones i wanted to test for me with my laptop and ran thru a short mix with each. If you can get your local shop to do this then i would recommend doing this, not all shops are that willing to let you do this thou)
