IMO the best controllers are in order:
1 Denon MC6000
2 Denon MC3000
3 Numark NS6
4 None
5 None
6 NI S4
7 NI S2
Then comes the rest
And if you are on low budget the Numark Mixtrak pro is recommended by me.
Pioneer DDJ T1 is not among my top controllers because it is too big, low quality (for the price) and has not the extras that the others on the top list has.. The only thing that makes it sell at all IMO is that it has the Pioneer logo on it!
So the S4 would be a better choice. But the S4 does not have the same quality as the MC3000/6000 and NS6
The NS6 is also big but it has a good quality on the controller BUT it runs on ITCH and is not so good for Traktor/VDJ as the layout is for ITCH.
Denon MC6000 and MC3000 are buit like tanks and has very good quality on buttons/knobs.
They are also small and has a lot of extras….
Therefore I recommend that you take a look at the S4 and MC6000 to campare them:
