ParticipantThe most popular and most recomended budget controller is the Numark Mixtrak Pro.
I suggest you take a look at that one as it is IMO most value for money in the low budget market.February 7, 2012 at 6:33 am #14381Rigo92
MemberI know that a lot of you guys in this website recommend that controller but I personally don’t like how it looks and it’s construct plus I can get any of the options I listed for the same price. Wouldn’t you agree that the reloop digital jockey 2 interface edition and the American Audio vms2 are better?

MemberIt’s not the reloop mixage, it’s the reloop digital jockey 2 interface edition. Damn I really thought the community here was well informed but it appears that I’ve gotten more information from my personal online research. Do you guys think that the Stanton SC System 3 at 179.99 + 10 shipping is a good deal. what do you guys know about this controller?

Well you get what you pay for and I can agree on the looks but the construction on the Mixtrak pro is above others in that pricerange. Reloop and American Audio is among the brands that I personly would not touch even with gloves on, but that is my own point of view! So NO! I do not agree and think that the Numark Mixtrack pro is the only low budget controller on the market worth spending any money on at all. The others are in my opinnion as Steve Jobbs would have put it crap!
Others may think different but if you ask my oppinion that is it.

Personly I like that system because it is a bit different then others.
It has its cons and pros. Cons is that it has no knobs wich makes it rather different to work with.
Pros is that it does not take much space……I suggest you go to a local dealer and try it out.

MemberI have a reloop jockey 2 and use it with vdj pro, with the jogwheel latency fix it works great, soundcard is fine… it’s not an audio 8 but it gets the job done. the eq knobs are a little wobbly because they are push to kill, that’s not to say the quality of them is bad, it’s just the nature of the beast having that extra functionality…
the volume faders are a little cheap.. they work fine but you shouldn’t slam them like you would on a vestax or ns6… but they are better than the mixtrack… the crossfader is amazing for a cheap controller allowing sharp precision cuts, jogs are smaller but higher resolution, pitch slider is small but 14bit, transport buttons can give way when abused, It isn’t the best controller on the market by a long shot, but imo it is the best in it’s class above the mixtrack. That said I have never had my hands on a vms2/4/4.1 to judge the quality.

ParticipantI just bought recently two Reloop Contour Controller
Review here: http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2010/12/review-the-reloop-contour-interface-edition-dj-controller/
There are two versions one with a built-in 8-out sound card (Interface Edition) and one without an audio interface.
The price was first at about 320€ for the interface Edition it dropped recently to about 145€ and 99€ for the Controller only Edition.
For the quality of the controllers its a fantastic price. Traktor LE is included. -
