As you said the MC3000 because it works very well with both VDJ and Traktor and is built like a tank ;-).
The NIS2 is not a good choice if you are to use it with anything other than Traktor!
Numark NS6 is an ITCH controller so it is not good with VDJ and not with Traktor eather
otherwise it is a veruy good controller (but more expencive than MC3000/S2)

Another option I was exploring was getting a Numark Mixdeck considering their price has gone down dramatically and I would be able to still mix off CDs or usb if my computer were to fail. Anybody else have some input?

Consider the Kontrol s2, its solid and certainly pro standard. Also, if your thinking about switching to traktor, it’s already included with the hardware.

Also, take a look at the reloop controllers, you get a lot of ‘bang for your buck’ with those.

    happy hunting

Okay how about this, how does the mc3000 compare to the s2? Is it natively supported by virtual dj? Besides the lower price of the S2 and the software being included, what r the pros over the mc3000. Mind u I am pretty simple when it comes to DJing. All I need is some good loop and cue control, some effects and 2 decks. The most important detail for me is definitely build and sound quality so whichever of those posses better traits in these areas would be my pick I think

Take a look at this article:
    http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2011/11/dj-controller-clinic-traktor-kontrol-s2-vs-denon-dj-mc3000/

And you will find that the MC3000 is build by better components and has steel chassies compared to plastic on S2
It also has analoge inputs so that you can connect two CD players/ iPod or other sound source that
will rescue you if the computer needs to be restarted. That is not possible in S2.
Also the S2 is very tight to Traktor and therefore it is not a good choice if you think of using VDJ.
The MC3000 is made for both SW and will do the job with Traktor AND VDJ.

Native Instruments is a software company that started doing hardware with the S4 about two years ago
Denon is a hardware company with over 100 years of experience in making hardware…..
