You need to go into preferences>recording and set it to internal instead of external

i had the same issue… I”m using an s4 and my recording setup was fixed to record out of the s4.. I had no sound but the file would show as well. I switched it to make sure it recorded inside my macbook instead and everything worked fine since then.

Like what was said above, make sure that your under the “Mix Recorder,” your source is set to “Internal” rather than “External.” Also, check your “Output Routing” tab, and make sure that “Output Record” is set to whichever output you have selected as your Master Output.

the gain might be turned all the way down in the recorder. Check that the VU meters are showing a reading in the mix recorder itself.

I was just about to say, check the gain – both on the recorder and the master, usually for gigs I keep it around -7.5 ; but when recording this makes it come up too quiet so i’ll set it to 0 for recordings, usually. make sure the recorders ‘meter’ is moving and is close to – not actually, but close to the red.

Are you getting movement from the recording meters?
