    1) if the music sounds good to you, then don’t change the settings.

    2) There should be buttons in the waveform view that allow you to zoom in more. So you can raise up the waveform visually and make it more prominent. You might want to rescan the tracks in Traktor as well.

I use MP3 and set the db at 95. But I am using Serato. That setting is perfect for the waveforms.

I need to use something like this, I always have to manually change the gain on my songs in Traktor.

I’ve just looked this program up @ http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net and the product description is quite appealing .. There are a few mp3s in my collection that people have sent me after trading vinyl rips that could do with benefiting from being run through such a piece of software. I shall report my findings at the beginning of the week when I get back to soberness and work mode haha. side note: I don’t really depend in the waveforms unless there is a complicated breakdown going on and I need a visual representation to spot the ‘Drop’ (most of the time this is audible but sometimes it has to be seen to be believed), and I’ve recently learned how to get better use out of the software ‘gain’ and ‘EQ’ .. It’s all a big a$$ happy learning curve 🙂

I don’t think the zoom alters the amplitude of the waveform in Traktor, only the longitude .. *to be verified!

The + and – buttons on the right side.

If the wave form has been reduced by mp3 gain then the zoom isn’t going to help.

If it was a decent quality file and was a full size wave form to start with I’m not sure why it would have been made smaller. I don’t know anything about mp3 gain though so I can’t offer really offer any help.

don`t know if its really so important to use such programs,i`m used to regulate the gain manually..and if the mp3 sounds like sh*t(bad mastering)than such programs don`t do anything magically imho..i think its more important to find the right EQ if you are using Traktor, there are huge differences if you switch from the NUO eq to CLASSIC for example..

Can be good if you use an MP3 player that can’t correct volumes on playback, just to save having to turn up/down when tracks change.

yes phil, that was something i did not think about .-) in this case of course it is a good thing to use such programs! i`m wondering if platinum notes does correct already finished mixes or is it important to analyse the tracks before the set?

I’ve never been a fan of these audio enhancement programs. i can see the occasional use of them being warranted on some songs, but to use them on your entire library in bulk is never something I would do.
