Both headphones have a different design in terms of how they sit on the ear (Senn’s) or around the ear (A&H XD-40). Your hubby will certainly have a preference, find out which if you can, as if he doesn’t like the Senns sitting on the ear it could turn out to be an expensive mistake. If he doesn’t know or you can’t ask – the A&H are likely to be a safer bet as they dont sit on the ear, they are also cheaper and so will suit as a very good second pair, which all DJ’s need as headphones are lost or damaged quite often.
On the latter though if he is okay with on ear headphones, Sennheiser have good parts availability and the cable is detachable, which is quite often the first thing to go as at some point or other the cable gets caught and it snags, on most other headphones it means at very least re-wiring from manufacturer or a new pair. With the senns you can get a new cable and plug it in again. The Sennheisers also seem to be the best rated for sound quality. But be careful which 25s you choose there are two, one with one band which is cheaper:
